The building uses the latest base isolation system, enabling it to withstand earthquakes of magnitude 7 on the Japanese Meteorological Agency seismic intensity scale.
Proper combination of the laminated rubber bearings and elastic sliding bearings effectively lengthens the natural vibration peiord, absorbing seismic energy from small to large earthquakes to reduce shaking and seismic force.

ComSpace III is located at a highly convenient and accessible location approximately 30 minutes (by public transportation) from downtown Tokyo. The site is on stable bedrock, away from active faults and shielded from the effects of earthquakes and liquefaction.
Moreover, at an elevation of 40 m above sea level, the site has a very low flood risk.
*Based on the “Survey of the degree of danger by district” published by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in September 2013. The area has the highest safety rankings, with a ranking of 1 for building collapse risk, fire risk, and overall risk.

The facility is fully configured to provide a stable power supply to the servers, with special high voltage receiving equipment (main line and standby line receiving from separate substations), on-site main line redundancy, on-site power generation able to supply power for more than 48 hours, and UPS equipment. Moreover, there is also a system for receiving priority fuel supplies in the event of an emergency.

The site is under manned surveillance 24 hours a day, all year round, and uses the latest biometric authentication systems, metal detectors, X-ray inspection equipment and other rigorous security measures. It is also FISC compliant.

We conduct various initiatives aimed at achieving the highest levels of energy efficiency in Japan, and we offer highly efficient facilities and equipment. We use a highly efficient air conditioning system that enables us to support high density racks. The facility can provide floor loading capacity of 1,000 kg/m2 and rated power of 12 kVA to support high-density installations and superior cost competitiveness.

ComSpace III directly connects a VECTANT closed area backbone to an internet backbone, enabling provision of a wide-bandwidth, high quality network access environment at low cost.
